Mercure Bucharest City Center
The landscaping project we completed for Mercure Bucharest City Center remains a testament to thoughtful design and sustainable urban development. Our planting design focused on selecting plant species well-adapted to local conditions, enhancing the hotel's chic ambiance while contributing to improved air quality in one of Europe's most polluted capitals. Special attention was given to creating effective visual and acoustic insulation for the terrace area, particularly near the garage entrance and adjacent street, while maintaining partial transparency to allow views from George Enescu Street.
The greening of the hotel's entrance involved planting ivy on the entrance pillars and bamboo shrubs to the right of the entrance, providing year-round greenery. The terrace landscaping began with the introduction of small trees—Magnolia, Pine, Hornbeam, and Cypress—to serve as focal points, offering visual interest throughout the year. Complementing these were shrubs like Boxwood and Dogwood, climbers such as Ivy and Vine, and perennials including Lavender and Pennisetum, all contributing to the terrace's seasonal charm. The lilac flowers and intense fragrance of lavender, the persistent green of boxwood, the vibrant red stems of dogwood, and the playful spikes of pennisetum personalized the terrace, while the vine added a touch of elegance, connecting to the traditional courtyard style of Bucharest.
This project exemplifies our commitment to planting design, wellbeing, wildlife, urban landscaping, and the continuous discovery voyage that thoughtful landscaping can offer.
