“If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.”

Cărturești Verona
Grădina Verona — an organic extension of Bucharest’s beloved Cărturești Verona bookstore — offers a serene urban oasis, rich with cultural programs and leisurely pauses.
Our planting design was guided by “σχολή” (scholē), the Greek word for leisure that birthed our modern “school” — yet to reclaim that spirit!
Here, our mindful design and attentive stewardship transformed the garden into a living school: a space for the art of spending time well. Envision a tranquil spa at the cusp of forest and meadow, where gardening bridges the known and unknown, reason and intuition, wild and domestic.
The garden’s harmonious framework—framed pathways and plantings create distinct zones — invites use all year round. Mini-gardens bloom beside intimate seating areas, each offering visual, olfactory, and acoustic pleasure.
With hardy, low-maintenance perennials enhancing the microclimate, Grădina Verona is a sanctuary for enriching the simple joy of being in nature—every leaf, fragrance, and whisper of wind a lesson in well-being.
Cărturești Modul
At Cărturești Modul, nestled beside the Ion Mincu University of Architecture, the presence of carefully curated plants both inside and outside the bookstore invites visitors into a calming and inspiring atmosphere.
These living elements, thoughtfully integrated, create a gentle dialogue between nature and culture, enhancing the wellbeing of readers, students, coffee drinkers, passersby, and cultural event participants alike. Whether browsing a new novel, enjoying a cup of coffee, or attending a talk or workshop, visitors are subtly guided by greenery that sparks curiosity and comfort — a quiet companion on each individual’s journey of discovery.
